Thou shalt not take
the name of Yehoah, your Elohim in vain!
After the discovery
of the prophetic power of the second commandment, you are now invited to taste
the rich and good food given with the third commandment!
The
ten commandments of our Lord are, it should be pointed out, the foundations of
the life of every believer. Indeed, Yehoah gave these commandments to mankind as
a series of signs (Deuteronomy
6: 6-9):
6"And these words
which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7You shall teach them
diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house,
when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8You shall bind them as a
sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9You shall write them on
the doorposts of your house and on your gates. ."
But a
sign or an indication is usually set up only to announce the imminent arrival
of an event considered to be sufficiently significant. You can compare that
with road signals announcing dangerous turns, crossroads or any other event on
your way.
In
itself, the signal is not very important; it is what it announces that it is important
to know.
In a
comparable way, the commandments are on you as signs which announce that
you are believer! They announce your behaviour and this is what is important.
Indeed,
if your life does not fit with the description given by the Ten Commandments, then
YOU ARE A LIAR, A MIRAGE OR IN OTHER WORDS, A FALSE WITNESS OF THE LORD.
On
the other hand, if you live in harmony with the commandments and if you fit to
the description they are giving of you, then you are true and their signs are announcing
it to your neighborhood.
(II Corinthians
2: 14-17)
"14Now
thanks be to Elohim who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us
diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. 15For we are
to Elohim the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those
who are perishing. 16To the one we are the aroma of death leading to
death, and to the other the aroma of life leading to life. And who is
sufficient for these things? 17For we are not, as so many, peddling
the word of Elohim; but as of sincerity, but as from Elohim, we speak in the sight of
Elohim in Christ."
In
other words, if people are seeking the truth, they will not be disappointed by
your behaviour and thanks to you, they will be able to find it and to become rich
like you.
But let
us read and pay attention the contents of the third commandment:
" Thou shalt not take the
name of Yehoah, your Elohim in vain; for Yehoah will not hold him guiltless that taketh
his name in vain!"
(Exodus 20: 7)
Know
Yehoah.
This
commandment speaks about the name of Yehoah and the question is why so many translators
took the liberty to delete His name and replace it by the Lord? Why should the
proper name of Yehoah disappear while the same translators are keeping the
names of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David and of many others? Isn't it unfair to
Yehoah to avoid to call Him by His true name while everywhere in His word,
He is expecting us to use and bless it? Please try to call our Creator by His
name Yehoah or Jehovah if you feel it is better but at least do the effort to
use His name properly! His name should never disappear. Don't follow the
teaching of Israelites religious authorities who are claiming that as nobody
knows how His name is pronounced, it is better not to pronounce it anymore for
the time being to make sure that one is not committing a sacrilege. This
statement is absolutely against the wish of our Father and I want to tell these
religious authorities that our Father expects us to behave like His children
and to learn like little children how to call our Creator. It is better to try
to call Him with a mistake than to ignore his name like they teach to do. Our
Father and His son Jesus are powerful enough to correct us if we pronounce it
badly and they will do it in due time. Let us use this name of Yehoah to show
our love and respect to this Family who has made so big sacrifices for us as an
extreme demonstration of love!
Would
you be happy if suddenly all the members of your family would start to call you
by another name of their choice?
When
Yehoah pronounces this third command, He only speaks to the people to whom He
introduced Himself few months ago in
Various names and titles for the members
of our Father's family, Elohim!
To
illustrate this, let us take the example of Moses who feared to go towards the
Hebrew in
13Then Moses said to Elohim,
"Indeed, when I come to the children of
14And Elohim said to Moses, "I will be who I will become (note:
wrongly translated by I AM WHO I AM)." And He said, "Thus you
shall say to the children of
Note: About the prophetic meaning of the sentence
"I will be who I will become", please go and read later in this
article the part entitled:
Which meaning for: "I will be who I will
become "?
It was indeed very important for Moses to
know the name of The One who was sending him to accomplish his mission near his
people.
The other name "Elohim (note: in most bibles "God") of the
patriarchs" is also taken very seriously by Jesus, our Saviour when He
makes use of it to explain to the Sadducees why there must be a resurrection
after death (Matthew
"31But concerning the
resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by Elohim,
saying, 32"I am the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac, and
the Elohim of Jacob'? Elohim is not the Elohim of the dead, but of the living."
Jesus wants
to show by this that at any time in history of the mankind, the Father is
always Elohim/God of the patriarchs who meanwhile are dead and consequently must
resuscitate in the future. Elohim sees the patriarchs as sleeping and they will
awake at the time of the next return of Jesus-Christ as it is very well
explained in the book of the Revelation of John (chapter 20: 4-6) and also in the first epistle
of Paul to the Corinthians (chapter 15: 20-26) or in the first one to Thessalonicians, chapter 4: 16-18.
Thus
with this example of Jesus-Christ, we must understand the meaning and the value
of the names and the titles of our Creator when we want to pronounce them in any
language that exists. Indeed not only the original name but its meaning and its
value are of utmost importance. By the way, in the texts of the New Testament
the name Elohim is translated by God that comes from the Greek
Θεος.
Which meaning for:
"I will be who I will become"?
Did you already meditate about this name that
Yehoah Elohim unveiled to Moses to introduce Himself to His captive people in
This name that Yehoah Elohim reveals to Moses would give him an impressive
authority near his people. This sentence in Exodus
This title under which Yehoah Elohim
wants Moses to introduce Him to the Children of Israel is a prophecy about the
future prestigious position He will fulfill in the future. This event can be
compared with the coronation of a Prince.
Another example to illustrate the
possibility of several titles for the same person is for instance when somebody
who would be a Professor and is asked to become Prime Minister: Family members
will call him Darling, Father or Mother, very close friends will call him by
his given name but in government meetings his name and title will become Mr. Prime
Minister. If for some reason, he is asked to perform in a University, his title
will become Professor! Four different ways to call the same person! It is now
easier to understand that for Jesus or Yehoah, it is the same.
Indeed, in many places of the New
Testament we can read Jesus existed before Mary gave birth to him as her first
baby of flesh. Elohim became Father for
the first time as he fathered. But Jesus has a divine past before his birth on
earth as a human being. Let us have first a look at the beginning of John's
gospel, chapter 1 verse 1:
"1 In the beginning was
the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim. 2He was
in the beginning with Elohim. 3All things were made through Him, and
without Him nothing was made that was made. 4In Him was life, and
the life was the light of men"
Then at verse
14:
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we
beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of
grace and truth.
15John (note: the Baptist) bore witness of Him and cried out,
saying, "This was He of whom I said, "He who comes after me is preferred
before me, for He was before me."
This reveals
us very clearly that before he was born with the name of Jesus, our Saviour,
alias the Word, was with Elohim at the time of the creation and that He took part to
it. It is even established that He was involved in all the creation! This
former activity of Jesus is confirmed by Paul in several of his epistles. First
in the one to the Colossians, chapter 1, verses 15 and 16:
"15He (note: Jesus, the
Son of His love) is the image of the invisible Elohim, the firstborn over all
creation. 16For by Him all things were created
that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether
thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created
through Him and for Him."
And the
prestigious past of Jesus is also mentionned at the beginning of the epistle to
the Hebrews, chapter 1, verses 1 and 2:
"1 Elohim, who
at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the
prophets, 2has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He
has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;"
And finally,
in the first epistle to the Corinthians, chapter 10, verses 1 to 4, Paul
unveils that Jesus was protecting the children of
Israel in the desert of Sinai:
1 Moreover, brethren, I do not want you to be unaware
that all our fathers were under the cloud, all passed through the sea, 2all
were baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea, 3all ate the
same spiritual food, 4and all drank the same spiritual drink. For
they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was
Christ."
Having said
this, one can better understand why Yehoah asks Moses to introduce Him as the
One who will be to the Hebrews as He wanted to announce His Future role of Father
of Jesus, Elohim that was to become Father for the first time! This being
accepted, it also is an explanation to the meaning about the way Jesus was
introducing Himself in several places of the New Testament as "I am"
(at the present this time), for instance to the crowd coming to arrest him a little
before his crucifixion. By the way, it is interesting to see the powerful effect
His name does on those who came to arrest him: All of them fall by respect.
In some case
this sentence of Jesus (John 18: 6-7), is wrongly translated by "I am
he", while it should be I AM (Еγω
ειμι= ego eimi which means I, I am) to be compared with the
previous I WILL BE. And the
reason for which Jesus uses the present of the verb to be while Yehoah was using the future
at the time of Moses is quite simple:
At the time of his answer, HE is indeed the Son of Elohim according to the
prophecy given to Moses. And at the time of Moses, Yehoah was announcing that He will be for the first time Father of a son.
Jesus is
introducing Himself in the same way in John 8: 24 and in few other places:
"24Therefore I said to
you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am,
you will die in your sins."
Here again Jesus
is asking his people to believe that he
became what was prophesied about him in the time of Moses,
THE SON OF ELOHIM!
Let us
insist on the fact that Yehoah wishes to be called by His name as it is written
in so many places of the bible. So don't follow the teachings and practice of Jewish
beliefs that abstain to pronounce His name or even prefer to distort it to make
sure it will be pronounced with a mistake (for instance Elokim and not Elohim) because
all this is superstition. Such an even unconscious attitude is a scorn on His name; to render His name useless is opposite
to our Creator's will: Our Father wants that all the things He has created, even
the lesser ones, will be used and be at our dipsosal; this includes names! Pronounce
His name with love and respect will help us to produce fruits. Have always in
mind the parable of the talents! (Matthew 25: 14-30)
Here are now
few advices to help us to know the name of our Creator?
A first way
is to be trained
TO RECEIVE AND ACCEPT THE WORDS OF OUR FATHER
Accept them
they are without trying to twist their meanings to adapt them to our carnal
nature.
Fo this
purpose, let us read about this in the book of Proverbs (Proverbs 2: 1-5) and
we will find how to do:
"1 My son,
if you receive my words,
And treasure my commands within you,
2So that you incline your
ear to wisdom,
And apply your heart to
understanding;
3Yes, if you cry out for
discernment,
And lift up your voice for
understanding,
4If you seek her as
silver,
And search for her as for hidden
treasures;
5Then you will understand
the fear of Yehoah,
And find the knowledge of
Elohim."
The second
step to improve our knowledge of Yehoah and His name consists in KEEPING HIS
COMMANDMENTS.
For this
purpose, you should understand them,
therefore you should study them
carefully to discover all their richnesses.
To summarize, we should simply LOVE YEHOAH (I Jean 5: 2-3):
"2By this
we know that we love the children of Elohim, when we love Elohim and keep His
commandments. 3For this is the love of Elohim, that we keep His
commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome."
The
knowledge of Elohim exists only in those who keep his commandments (I Jean 2: 3-5):
"3 Now by this we know that we
know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4He who says, "I know
Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not
in him. 5But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of Elohim is
perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him."
Our Father likes
very much to be known in the same way as a father wishes to be known by his
children but unfortunately His Children, the people of Israel, rejected Him and
His knowledge but let us read what occurred (Hosea 6: 4-6):
"4 "O Ephraim, what shall I do to you?
O
For your faithfulness is like a
morning cloud,
And like the early dew it goes away.
5Therefore I have hewn
them by the prophets,
I have slain them by the words of My
mouth;
And your judgments are like light
that goes forth.
6For I desire mercy and
not sacrifice,
And the knowledge of Elohim more
than burnt offerings."
Finally to
secure and strengthen a good knowledge of Yehoah and of His name, you must
SEEK WISDOM AND STICK TO INTELLIGENCE!
Wisdom is
given to you by the Father and thanks to it, you will always have a complete
vision of the truth. Nothing will be able to bar you from the knowledge of
Yehoah (II Corinthians 10: 3-5):
"3For
though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4For
the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in Elohim for pulling down
strongholds, 5casting down arguments and every high thing that
exalts itself against the knowledge of Elohim, bringing every thought into
captivity to the obedience of Christ"
WHY OUR FATHER AND HIS SON DO ATTRIBUTE SO MUCH IMPORTANCE AT THEIR NAMES?
To answer
this question, we must first of all be aware that all names have a meaning
which often corresponds to a title or a quality attached to the person, the
animal or the thing who or which receives it for the first time. Each name goes
hand in hand with a responsibility and all the names existing on earth were
created either by Elohim, or by men.
Here is an
example to confirm that (Genesis 2: 19-20 and 3: 20):
"19Out of
the ground Yehoah Elohim formed every beast of the field and every bird of the
air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam
called each living creature, that was its name. 20So Adam
gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the
field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him…
Chapter 3: 20: 20And Adam
called his wife's name Eve, because she was the mother of all living."
By the way,
these verses of the Bible shows how profound is the contradiction with the partisans of evolution (so-called
theory of Darwin) who see the origin of human beings as a very long and slow
process starting from the development of cells,
then via primates close to the monkeys to finally reach first men still unable
to speak, to write and to build, living in
caves and under precarious condition. Meanwhile, the Bible describes us the
first man able from the beginning to create judicious names for all the numerous
varieties of animals, undoubtedly much more than those which we know today!
Yehoah kept
the right to name all the stars in the skies (Psalm 147: 4):
"He counts the number of the stars; He calls them
all by name."
An
interesting study you could undertake is to seek the etymology and the meaning of
the names in the Word of Elohim. Often the Bible itself gives us the explanation for
it and if we do a little effort to undertsand the etymology (origin of the
names) from some words in foreign languages such as Hebrew and Greek, our eyes
will open and we will understand better our Bible.
Let us take an
example with the name of the adoptive ancestor of all Christians, Abraham: Genesis
17: 5 explains the meaning of his name:
"No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your
name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations."
His name is composed
of the word Abba which means father as we are told in Mark 14: 36 and the word
aham that means many nations!
Now by
analogy, we can try to discover the meaning of Balaam's name, the name of the
false prophet living at the time of Moses (Numbers 22) and also mentionned in
Revelation 2: 14:
"But I have a few things against you, because you have
there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a
stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols,
and to commit sexual immorality."
In Aramite,
this name could be decomposed in two parts:
1) Bal similar to the Hebrew baal
which designates originally the lord and the owner who dominates. It is still
used in modern Hebrew and it means the husband as the head of the family. By
the way, it is interesting to note that the actual biblical name for husband is
not baal but "ich" (àéù).
2) Aam is the second part of the name
Balam and as we saw earlier, it designates a crowd of nations. Balaam thus
seems to designate the dominator of the nations.
If you go
and read the history of Balaam and his end in the book of Numbers, you will discover that
his behaviour is according to Satan, the ruler of this world. But there is more
to understand from the meaning of his name. Indeed, here is an interesting
example showing that by having in mind the meaning of a name, you will be able
to trace it in another language. This
will help you to make links between names and sects that are a danger for true
believers. This understanding can be used to warn us against dangerous
deviations from the paths of righteousness that would be inspired to us not by
the Father but by men possibly influenced by the evil. So let us continue our
reading in Revelation 2, verse 15:
"Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans,
which thing I hate."
Here, it is
time to remember that the writings of the New Testament were inspired
in the Greek language by a reaction to the rejection of the Lord Jesus by the
Jews, by his own people. I am telling
this despite all the statements of some even famous scholars who, for once,
would like to include the sayings of Jesus and of His disciples in the Hebrew
language; but the motivation of this scholars is not Jesus and His sayings but
pride and money! It is not for nothing
that Jesus is calling himself as the alpha
and the omega, the first and last letter of the Greek alphabet. He did write
the aleph and tav, first and last letter of the Hebrew alphabet! For the same
reason, in several places of the New Testament, when an Aramic or Hebrew word
is used, it is translated in Greek to help people to undertsand the meaning of
these words.
Now if we
try to discover the meaning in Greek of the name Nicolaitans, we will be
surprised to discover that it is almost the same meaning as Balaam:
1) Nico comes from the Greek verb nicao
which means to defeat and overcome the enemy.
2) Laitans comes from the Greek laos
which means people or crowd.
Nicolaitans
or the disciples of Nicolas (Saint Nicolaus today) are only one with the believers
in Balaam since the meanings of both names are the same: The lord or winner over
people and nations!
Maybe you
will better understand why our Father and His Son are pressing us to flee out
of the traditions of the world related to "Sint Nicolaus", like
Christmas with its Sint Nicolaus whose origin comes from the Scandinavian countries
and has nothing to do with our Saviour.
Nicolaus and
Balaam have one single meaning: The ones who defeated, weakened the nations of
this world like Satan did (Isaiah 14: 12):
"How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the
morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations!"
It is thus
not astonishing that Yehoah forced Satan to impose his mark to his disciples.
I would like
now to make here a remark for all the Nicolaus on earth: Don't ne worried by what you have just read! Don't change your
name that was given as it would be an action of superstition. What is aimed by
what was written earlier about Nicolaus, is the philosophy behind a religion such
as the one of Balaam alias Nicolaitans. A person being called Nicolaus seeking
to live according to the Word of Elohim must feel trustful in his spiritual being
and must walk with faith towards safety. At the end, it would be a victory for
Elohim to have many good Nicolaus among His sons. To reassure you on this
subject, everybody should also know that the Bible teaches us that we all are
sinners, some conscious, some unconscious about their sins. Being sinners
according to the Bible means also to have unfortunately contributed like the
Jews and the Romans, consciously or not to the sacrifice of Jesus-Christ. We
are all in the same "chit"! This situation is much less enviable with
respect to the one who would bear the name of Nicolaus, Christmas or Judas. We
all are on the same boat and we all want to reach safely the good port whatever
the name that was given to us at our birth.
But let us come
back to the name that exceeds all the names, an exceptional name, that of our
Creator:
"16Do not
cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17that
the Elohim of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the
spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18the eyes
of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of
His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
19and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe,
according to the working of His mighty power 20which He worked in
Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the
heavenly places, 21far above all principality and power
and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but
also in that which is to come. "
(Ephesians
1: 16-21)
And His name
in whatever language you will pronounced, Hebrew, English, French or German, will
always refer to the same Majesty, our Father the Creator of all that exist
under our sky and in the skies.
As we read
about the same meaning Balaam and Nicolaus have, we must understand that it is not the language
which counts but the meaning of the name!
Jesus is giving
us another well known proof for this: Peter's name in Aramic and in Greek:
Cephas and Petros that both mean a stone.
So if Elohim
asks us to not take His name in vain, it is because of the
attributes, the great prestige and the glory that are associated with it.
Yehoah warns the people of Israel during their travel across the desert of Sinai:
" 20
Behold, I send an Angel before you to keep you in the way and to bring you into
the place which I have prepared. 21Beware of Him and obey His voice;
do not provoke Him, for He will not pardon your transgressions; for My name is
in Him."
(Exodus 23:
20-21)
The Angel
does not have like Christ the power to forgive sins and consequently the one,
who would take Yehoah's name in vain is threatened with death. But in spite of
this solemn warning, the people of Israel on several occasions have scorned the
presence of Yehoah's name in the Angel and the cost was always very expensive
as we will read it in two following examples:
1. " 1 Now
when the people complained, it displeased Yehoah; for Yehoah heard it, and
His anger was aroused. So the fire of Yehoah burned among them, and
consumed some in the outskirts of the camp. 2Then the people cried
out to Moses, and when Moses prayed to Yehoah, the fire was quenched. 3So
he called the name of the place Taberah, because the fire of Yehoah had burned
among them."
(Numbers 11:
1-3)
2. Let us
take now the famous example of the return of the twelve spies that visited the
Promised Land. By their attitude they dared to scorn the Yehoah's name carried
by the Angel:
" 36Now the
men whom Moses sent to spy out the land, who returned and made all the
congregation complain against him by bringing a bad report of the land, 37those
very men who brought the evil report about the land, died by the plague before
Yehoah. 38But Joshua the son of Nun and Caleb the son of Jephunneh
remained alive, of the men who went to spy out the land.." (Numbers 14: 36-38)
On the other
hand, there are also the extraordinary promises for those who will honour and
pay respect to Yehoah's name carried by this Angel:
" 22But if
you indeed obey His voice and do all that I speak, then I will be an enemy to
your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. 23For My Angel
will go before you and bring you in to the Amorites and the Hittites and the
Perizzites and the Canaanites and the Hivites and the Jebusites; and I will cut
them off. 24You shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor
do according to their works; but you shall utterly overthrow them and
completely break down their sacred pillars.
25"So you shall serve Yehoah your Elohim, and He will bless
your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you.
26No one shall suffer miscarriage or be barren in your land; I will
fulfill the number of your days.
27"I will send My fear before you, I will cause confusion among
all the people to whom you come, and will make all your enemies turn their
backs to you. 28And I will send hornets before you, which shall
drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite from before you. 29I
will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become
desolate and the beasts of the field become too numerous for you. 30Little
by little I will drive them out from before you, until you have increased, and
you inherit the land." (Exodus 23: 22-30)
Having read
and meditated these words of our Father, you understand that the Believer who walks
with Him does not need any insurance since His Fahter is his support and his
living insurance!.
To follow,
please find some of the good qualtities you can find in Yehoah's name:
·
He is the One who provides for
the sacrifice:
" 13Then
Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and there behind him was a ram caught in a
thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and offered it up for a
burnt offering instead of his son. 14And Abraham called the name of
the place, Yehoah-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, "In the Mount
of Yehoah it shall be provided." (Genesis 22: 13-14)
And this
name is indeed very true if you realize that Jesus-Christ was offered in our
place!
·
Elohim cures also all diseases like written in Exodus
15: 26:
"26and He
(Yehoah) said, "If you diligently heed the voice of Yehoah your Elohim and
do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His
statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the
Egyptians. For I am Yehoah who heals you."
·
Yehoah is also called my Banner (Nissi) as we can read in
Exodus 17: 13-16:
"13So
Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
14Then Yehoah said to Moses, "Write this for a memorial in the
book and recount it in the hearing of Joshua, that I will utterly blot out the
remembrance of Amalek from under heaven." 15And Moses built an
altar and called its name,
Yehoah-Is-My-Banner;
16for he said, "Because Yehoah has sworn: Yehoah
will have war with Amalek from generation to generation."
If Yehoah is
my banner, it means that I will always be able to find in case I need His
protection against enemies.
·
One of the most beautiful attributes given by man
to Yehoah is certainly that of Yehoah of peace:
"22Now
Gideon perceived that He was the Angel of Yehoah. So Gideon said, "Alas, O
Lord Yehoah! For I have seen the Angel of Yehoah face to face."
23Then Yehoah said to him, "Peace be with you; do not fear, you
shall not die." 24So Gideon built an altar there to Yehoah, and
called it Yehoah-Is-Peace (Shalom). To this day it is still in Ophrah of
the Abiezrites." (Judges 6: 22-24)
And if we understand
that Yehoah does not change, we will discover that He is still Yehoah of Peace
today! To be convinced, let us read the prophecy of Paul in his epistle to the
Romans 16: 20:
"20And the
Elohim of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen."
·
Finally Yehoah is also our righteousness
according to Jeremiah, chapter 23: 5-8:
"5 "Behold,
the days are coming," says Yehoah,
"That I will raise to David a
Branch of righteousness;
A King shall reign and prosper,
And execute judgment and
righteousness in the earth.
6In His days
And
Now this is His name by which He
will be called:
YEHOAH OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
7"Therefore, behold, the days are coming," says Yehoah,
"that they shall no longer say, "As Yehoah lives who brought up the
children of Israel from the land of Egypt,' 8but, "As Yehoah
lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel from the
north country and from all the countries where I had driven them.' And they
shall dwell in their own land."
Here are
many titles and qualities to know and remember when we pray Yehoah: all these
names belong to the glory of the Father and consequently the glory of Jesus- Christ too:
"10And all
Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them." (John 17: 10)
How not to take
the name of Yehoah in vain?
If you
believe that you take the name of Yehoah in vain simply when you are
swearing, you are completely wrong and few coming examples will show you why.
Indeed "to take the name of Yehoah in vain" means much more than
that!
For
instance, if you accept to be member of the Assembly of our Creator, and if your behaviour is improper, then you
are transgressing the third commandment! Indeed, to bear the name of member of
the Church of our Father and His Son is a signal announcing to the world which
surrounds you that you are living according to every word that proceeds out of
the mouth of our Creator. The Christian who bears on himself His name should
keep His words:
" 6 "I
(note: Jesus speaks) have manifested Your name (note: of His Father) to the men
whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me,
and they have kept Your word. 7Now they have known that all things
which You have given Me are from You. 8For I have given to them the
words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known
surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me.
9"I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those
whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. 10And all Mine are
Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. 11Now I am no
longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy
Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me, that they may be
one as We are. 12While I was with them in the world, I kept them in
Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept; and none of them is lost except
the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled."
(John 17: 6-12)
If our behaviour
as believers does not fit to the name of members of the Assembly of our Father
and His Son, Jesus-Christ, WE ARE TAKING THE NAME OF YEHOAH ELOHIM IN VAIN and
He will not leave unpunished such a sin! To be more convinced about this,
please read what was the end of the Kingdom of Israel because they were wrongfully bearing
the name of Yehoah:
"16 Moreover the word of Yehoah
came to me, saying: 17"Son of man, when the house of Israel
dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own ways and deeds; to Me
their way was like the uncleanness of a woman in her customary impurity.
18Therefore I poured out My fury on them for the blood they had shed on
the land, and for their idols with which they had defiled it. 19So I
scattered them among the nations, and they were dispersed throughout the
countries; I judged them according to their ways and their deeds. 20When
they came to the nations, wherever they went, they profaned My holy name
--when they said of them, "These are the people of Yehoah, and yet they
have gone out of His land.' 21But I had concern for My holy name,
which the house of
22"Therefore say to the house of
A second way
to desecrate the name of Yehoah consists in praying Him without making His will
as it is revealed in the Bible. Indeed, when we pray Yehoah, we call Him by His
name. Moreover all the prayers of the believers are made in the name of Jesus-Christ.
But if our prayers are not accompanied by our will to obey the law of Yehoah,
we take these names in vain! Let us read on this subject in Proverbs 28: 9:
"One who turns away
his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination."
A third way
of taking the name of Yehoah in vain would be to teach like the pharisees or
the doctors of the law, i.e. not practice our teaching and consequently act
like a hypocrite. Such people would be at the origin of a mutliple
transgressions of the third commandment: once for themselves and many times for
those who see their deeds and are enclined to imitate them. Let us read how
Paul writes about this kind of "teachers" in his epistle to the
Romans, chapter 2, verses 17 to 29:
"17 Indeed you are called
a Jew, and rest on the law, and make your boast in Elohim, 18and know
His will, and approve the things that are excellent, being instructed out of
the law, 19and are confident that you yourself are a guide to the blind,
a light to those who are in darkness, 20an instructor of the
foolish, a teacher of babes, having the form of knowledge and truth in the law.
21You, therefore, who teach another, do you not teach yourself? You who
preach that a man should not steal, do you steal? 22You who say,
"Do not commit adultery," do you commit adultery? You who abhor
idols, do you rob temples? 23You who make your boast in the law, do
you dishonor Elohim through breaking the law? 24For "the
name of Elohim is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you," as it is
written.
Circumcision of No Avail
25 For circumcision is indeed profitable if you keep the law; but if
you are a breaker of the law, your circumcision has become uncircumcision.
26Therefore, if an uncircumcised man keeps the righteous requirements of
the law, will not his uncircumcision be counted as circumcision? 27And
will not the physically uncircumcised, if he fulfills the law, judge you who,
even with your written code and circumcision, are a transgressor of the law?
28For he is not a Jew who is one outwardly, nor is circumcision that
which is outward in the flesh; 29but he is a Jew who is one
inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, not in the
letter; whose praise is not from men but from Elohim."
Our Father is very
clear in His teaching transmitted by the writings of Paul!
A last way of
taking the name of Yehoah in vain is the one followed by the false prophet.
Indeed, he usurps the name of our Creator in order to spread teachings that
were never given to him by the Lord! Often the false prophet is motivated by
pride to become the leader of his people. This pride is often combined with the
lure of profit. Please read how Yehoah speaks about these prophets in Deuteronomy,
chapter 18, verses 20 to 22:
"20But the prophet who presumes to speak a
word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the
name of other gods, that prophet shall die.' 21And if you say in
your heart, "How shall we know the word which the LORD has not spoken?'--
22when a prophet speaks in the name of the LORD, if the thing does not
happen or come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD has not spoken; the
prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him."
Elohim gives you here
the key to recognize if a prophet speaks on behalf of Elohim or not: if his words
are carried out, he speaks in the name of the Lord, if not, he is lying and
usurping his position; one should not be afraid of him.
The third commandment
also orders us to use the name of Yehoah!
The third commandment,
as opposed to what teach most of the existing sects of the judaism, encourages
us to use and pronounce the name of our Lord. The religious authorities of the Jew
became so restrictive as for the pronunciation and the use of the name of Yehoah
that they claim to have forgotten the pronunciation of this beautiful and
prestigious name. Thus our Lord's name is only known by a tetragram often
translated as Jehovah or Yahweh. The Jews will replace the name of Yehoah by
the NAME (Hachem)! However the bible is full with examples where the use of the
name of our Lord is useful and often vital.
Let us read the
spectacular event in the life of David when he was about to fight against
Goliath; this account is taken out of I Samuel 17, verses 45 to 46 and 49 to
50:
"45Then
David said to the Philistine (note: Goliath), "You come to me with a
sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of
Yehoah of hosts, of Elohim of the armies of
This shows us that
a good and respectful use of the name of our Creator is a priceless source of
power.
It is thus necessary
to learn how to do this while having always in mind the third commandment.
Let us also read about
the important value of the name of Yehoah in psalm 44, verses 4 to 8:
" 4You are my King, O Elohim;
Command victories for Jacob. 5Through
You we will push down our
enemies;
Through Your name we will
trample
those who rise up against
us.
6For I will not trust in
my bow,
Nor shall my sword save me.
7But You have saved us
from our enemies,
And have put to shame those who
hated us.
8In Elohim we boast all
day long,
And praise Your name forever.Selah"
How could we praise
and celebrate the name of our Lord if we cannot even pronounce it and if we are
unaware of its meaning? The name of our Lord is vital and if we are not able to
promounce it in certain circumstances, we are likely to lose our only help:
1 "If it had not been Yehoah who was on our
side,"
Let Israel now say--
2"If it had not been
Yehoah who was on our side,
When men rose up against us,
3Then they would have
swallowed us alive,
When their wrath was kindled against
us;
4Then the waters would
have overwhelmed us,
The stream would have gone over our
soul;
5Then the swollen waters
Would have gone over our soul."
6Blessed be Yehoah,
Who has not given us as prey to
their teeth.
7Our soul has escaped as
a bird from the snare of the fowlers;
The snare is broken, and we have
escaped.
8Our
help is in the name of Yehoah,
Who made heaven and earth." (Psalm 124)
Very soon we
will be offered the dramatic choice between two names, the name of Yehoah or
the name of the beast !
Prophecy reveals
that we must pay a great attention to the names and their meanings. Soon we
will have to choose between two names:
On one side, the name of the beast rising up out
of the sea and that is described in the Revelation of John. The beast, the
false prophet and their government will try to force you to wear that name and
this will occur in the very near future.
On the other side,
the name of our Creator who will be offered to you and if you are patient
enough, it will become your future surname! Some among us will have the
privilege to be marked of it by Christ himself.
We will have the
choice between the mark of the beast or that of Christ! Let us read in the book
of Revelation, chapter 13, verses 16 to 18 where we will discover the circumstances
around the apparition of the one who is called the beast:
"16He
(note: the beast rising
up out of the earth) causes all, both
small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their
right hand or on their foreheads, 17and that no one may buy or sell except
one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
(note: new religious rules will be imposed to get license to do business).
18Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the
number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666."
What you have just
read must convince you of the importance that our Father gives to all the names
which are under the skies. If we pay attention to the writings of the prophets,
among others, Daniel and John, we will understand that the last empire that has
ruled worlwide was the Roman Empire. We will also understand that this Empire
will come back and go to its final end.
But
there is no empire without an emperor, in this case, the beast whose name makes
666!
The man who will
exert this misfotunate function already exists today, he is a person like you
and me. The Lord gives us a key to discover him in time and to recognize him in
his actions: in particular that to let himself be worshipped whereas he is only
a false god. We read earlier in the book of Deuteronomy, believers should not
fear such a man nor his name!
But it is
important to take into account the valuable information which is given in the book
of Revelation about the number of the name of the beast and to be able to count
it. But how to do?
First of all, we
should know that at the time of John and also at time of the Hebrew, men did
not use the Arab numbers as we use today. Indeed, the letters of the alphabet
were also used to count. This method is by the way still in use by the Jewish
people in Israel where the letters of the Hebrew alphabet are also numbers as in
biblical times. But the texts of the New Testament were written under the
inspiration of the Lord in Greek language, widely used by all the nations of that
time.
This is the reason
why our Father is introducing himself in the book of the Revelation as the
Alpha and Ôméga, the first and the last letter of the Greek
alphabet! He did not say Aleph and Tav
which are the first and the last letter of the Hebrew alphabet. No he used the
Greek language. The reason of this choice is well explained by Paul in his
epistle to the Romans: our Lord wishes to use elected people in the pagan world
to excite the jealousy of his beloved people of Israel in order to restore them
in their original position before they rejected Yehoah.
But let us come
back to our Greek alphabet, the British encyclopaedia describes us the values attributed
to each one of its letters as shown in the table below.
Thanks to this
table, you are able to count the number of the names; here as an example, the
name Alexandre as in Alexandre the Great would give:
A=alpha=1 +
L=lamda=30 + E=epsilon=5 + X=xi=60 + A=alpha=1 + N=nu=50 + D=delta=4 +
R=rhô=100 + E=epsilon=5.
The total is
1+30+5+60+1+50+4+100+5=256.
President Chirac
as well as former Prime Minister Jospin should not fear about their future as you can find that their numbers are
respectively 731 and 416 (by taking the iot like J).
But the name of a man
who is among us today fits with 666 and it is our duty as believers to use wisdom
and to show intelligence to discover his name and act consequently! With a
little effort, you can discover this name, this man is already known in his
country but mostly unknown abroad.

The beast should appear today as a respectable man who has conducted a successful
political career. To shed some more light on him, I suggest you to try to discover
his nation and his future plan in Isaiah 10: 12-26 and his end in Isaiah 30:
27-33, an end that is confirmed by Revelation 19: 19-20. His country is still existing
today but under a group of other names.
Once again, have in mind that a believer should not fear the name and
number of the beast. But a believer must be careful and act with a lot of
prudence. Never forget that Daniel was one of the most faithful servants of the
kings of Babel to whom he wished the best!
It must be the same with the believers who must act with a lot of respect for
all the authorities that the Lord appointed on earth till the return of his Son
Jesus-Christ. Meanwhile, the believers must also pay respect to this other name
which is above all that is nommable: this name about which we spoke throughout
this meditation about the third commandment. This name should not be used in
vain.
On the contrary of the name of the beast which will be destroyed soon
and be forgotten, the name of our Lord is a name for ever and some among us, who
will persevere till the end, have the promise to wear it:
"12He who overcomes, I will make him
a pillar in the temple of My Elohim, and he shall go out no more. I will write on
him the name of My Elohim and the name of the city of My Elohim, the New Jerusalem,
which comes down out of heaven from My Elohim. And I will write on him My new
name."
(Revelation 3: 12)
A name to pronounce,
a name to love and a name which protects and saves!
"1 May Yehoah answer you in the day of trouble;
May the name of Elohim of Jacob
defend you;
2May He send you help from
the sanctuary,
And strengthen you out of Zion;
3May He remember all your
offerings,
And accept your burnt
sacrifice.Selah
4May He grant you
according to your heart's desire,
And fulfill all your purpose.
5We will rejoice in your
salvation,
And in the name of our Elohim we
will set up our banners!
May Yehoah fulfill all your
petitions.
6Now I know that Yehoah
saves His anointed;
He will answer him from His holy
heaven
With the saving strength of His
right hand.
7Some trust in chariots,
and some in horses;
But we will remember the name of
Yehoah our Elohim.
8They have bowed down and
fallen;
But we have risen and stand upright.
9Save, Yehoah!
May the King answer us when we call."
(Psalm 20)
