The last and solemn day of the feast of tabernacles,
A symbol for the seventh commandment!
The eighth and last day of the feast
of the tabernacles during the seventh month of the sacred year is ending the
feast of Sukkot, the Hebrew name for tabernacles. We will explain why this day is
glorifying the seventh commandment given by Yehoah
(translated by the Lord) in Exodus 20: 14
" You shall not commit adultery! "
To whom is this seventh commandment
aimed at? To those who are going to marry, to those who are already married and
in the broadest sense, to all the believers.
Please remember what Paul wrote in
Colossians 2:16, that the feasts of Yehoah are given to us as a symbol for future events. As
such, the last great holiday of the seventh month is also the last feast of the
year according to the calendar used by Elohim. It symbolizes the last grandiose
event described in the last book of the Bible, the Revelation of John, in
chapter 21, the one that describes the wedding of the New Jerusalem with Jesus,
the Messiah and the Firstborn Son from our Creator:
" 1Now I saw a new
heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed
away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city,
New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from Elohim, prepared as a bride
adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven
saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of Elohim is with men, and He will dwell with
them, and they shall be His people. Elohim Himself will be with them and be
their Elohim. 4 And Elohim will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there
shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain,
for the former things have passed away.”
5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things
new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.”
6 And He said to me, “It is done! I am the
Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of
the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7He who overcomes shall
inherit all things, and I will be his Elohim and he shall be My
son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers,
sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in
the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
The New
Jerusalem
9 Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls filled with
the seven last plagues came to me and talked with me, saying, “Come, I will
show you the bride, the Lamb’s wife.” 10 And he carried me away in
the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the great city, the holy
Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from Elohim, 11 having the glory
of Elohim. Her light was like a most precious stone, like a jasper stone, clear
as crystal. 12 Also she had a great and high wall with twelve gates,
and twelve angels at the gates, and names written on them, which are the names
of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13 three gates on
the east, three gates on the north, three gates on the south, and three gates
on the west.
14 Now the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were
the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb. 15 And he who talked
with me had a gold reed to measure the city, its gates, and its wall. 16
The city is laid out as a square; its length is as great as its breadth. And he
measured the city with the reed: twelve thousand furlongs. Its length, breadth,
and height are equal. 17 Then he measured its wall: one hundred and
forty-four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of an angel. 18
The construction of its wall was of jasper; and the city was pure gold, like
clear glass. 19 The foundations of the wall of the city were adorned
with all kinds of precious stones: the first foundation was jasper, the second
sapphire, the third chalcedony, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth
sardonyx, the sixth sardius, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth chrysoprase, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth
amethyst. 21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls: each individual
gate was of one pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent
glass.
The Glory of
the New Jerusalem
22 But I saw no temple in it, for the Lord Elohim Almighty and the
Lamb are its temple. 23 The city had no
need of the sun or of the moon to shine in it, for the glory of Elohim
illuminated it. The Lamb is its light. 24 And the nations of those
who are saved shall walk in its light, and the kings of the earth bring their
glory and honor into it. 25 Its gates shall not be shut at all by
day (there shall be no night there). 26 And they shall bring the
glory and the honor of the nations into it. 27 But there shall by no
means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but
only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. "
This wedding ceremony cannot be
compared to anything we know if we consider that its brilliance and beauty will
be the fruit of the creative perfection of our Father. This New Jerusalem
coming down from heaven will be made up of the all believers who will have
decided to come together as one body at the time of the feast of the first day
of the seventh month. This is what happened already in the days of Nehemiah
when all the people went to Jerusalem for the beginning of the seventh month
feasts (Nehemiah 8: 1):
" Now all the people gathered together as one man in the open
square that was in front of the Water Gate; and they told Ezra the scribe to
bring the Book of the Law of Moses, which Yehoah had
commanded Israel. "
Eternity.
With this last great day of the
feast, we take a fundamental step, as we are expected to leave our temporary
dwelling that is our body symbolized by the sukkah/tent under which we spent
the seven days before this last great day. So we leave our fleshly body to
enter a permanent dwelling that does not change, the dwelling of eternity as
Paul writes in II Corinthians 4:16 until 5:10,
" 16 Therefore we
do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man
is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding
and eternal weight of glory, 18 while we do not look at the things
which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things
which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Chapter 5:
1 For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we
have a building from Elohim, a house not made with hands, eternal in the
heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed
with our habitation which is from heaven, 3 if indeed, having been
clothed, we shall not be found naked. 4 For we who are in this tent
groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further
clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life. 5 Now He who
has prepared us for this very thing is Elohim, who also has given us the Spirit
as a guarantee.
6 So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in
the body we are absent from Yehoah. 7 For
we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, yes, well
pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with Yehoah.
The Judgment
Seat of Christ
9 Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be
well pleasing to Him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment
seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body,
according to what he has done, whether good or bad. "
This lecture confirms what we read
previously in the book of Revelation, namely that this new body that I wish for
is heavenly and is the work of Elohim.
The eternity of this future body is
also symbolized by the permanence of wedding. This brings us back to the
seventh commandment which makes us understand that all adultery is a break from
eternity.
The faithful
woman dressed, the adultery one is undressed.
As it is written in Revelation 21,
Paul warns us above that the future bride must dress so as not to be naked or
badly dressed at the time of her wedding. She has therefore to act in the
opposite direction of the adulterous woman who undresses on every occasion to
offer herself to the first comer. This is undoubtedly the moment to recall the
bad example that Yehoah describes about, Jerusalem on
earth, the famous prostitute mistress in Ezekiel 16: 15-39,
" 15 But you
trusted in your own beauty, played the harlot because of your fame, and poured
out your harlotry on everyone passing by who would have it. 16 You
took some of your garments and adorned multicolored high places for yourself,
and played the harlot on them. Such things should not happen, nor be. 17
You have also taken your beautiful jewelry from My
gold and My silver, which I had given you, and made for yourself male images
and played the harlot with them. 18 You took your embroidered
garments and covered them, and you set My oil and My
incense before them. 19 Also My food which I gave you—the pastry of
fine flour, oil, and honey which I fed you—you set it before them as sweet
incense; and so it was,” says Yehoah Elohim.
20 “Moreover you took your sons and your daughters, whom you bore to Me, and these you sacrificed to them to be devoured. Were
your acts of harlotry a small matter, 21 that you have slain My children and offered them up to them by causing them to
pass through the fire? 22 And in all your abominations and acts of
harlotry you did not remember the days of your youth, when you were naked and
bare, struggling in your blood.
23 “Then it was so, after all your wickedness—‘Woe, woe to you!’ says
Yehoah Elohim— 24 that you also built for
yourself a shrine, and made a high place for yourself in every street. 25
You built your high places at the head of every road, and made your beauty to
be abhorred. You offered yourself to everyone who passed by, and multiplied
your acts of harlotry. 26 You also committed harlotry with the
Egyptians, your very fleshly neighbors, and increased your acts of harlotry to
provoke Me to anger.
27 “Behold, therefore, I stretched out My hand against you,
diminished your allotment, and gave you up to the will of those who hate you,
the daughters of the Philistines, who were ashamed of your lewd behavior. 28
You also played the harlot with the Assyrians, because you were insatiable;
indeed you played the harlot with them and still were not satisfied. 29
Moreover you multiplied your acts of harlotry as far as the land of the trader,
Chaldea; and even then you were not satisfied.
30 “How degenerate is your heart!” says Yehoah
Elohim, “seeing you do all these things, the deeds of a brazen harlot.
Jerusalem’s
Adultery
31 “You erected your shrine at the head of every road, and built your
high place in every street. Yet you were not like a harlot, because you scorned
payment. 32 You are an adulterous wife, who takes strangers instead
of her husband. 33 Men make payment to all harlots, but you made
your payments to all your lovers, and hired them to come to you from all around
for your harlotry. 34 You are the opposite of other women in your
harlotry, because no one solicited you to be a harlot. In that you gave payment
but no payment was given you, therefore you are the opposite.”
Jerusalem’s
Lovers Will Abuse Her
35 ‘Now then, O harlot, hear the word of Yehoah! 36 Thus says Yehoah Elohim:
“Because your filthiness was poured out and your nakedness uncovered in your harlotry
with your lovers, and with all your abominable idols, and because of the blood
of your children which you gave to them, 37 surely, therefore, I
will gather all your lovers with whom you took pleasure, all those you loved,
and all those you hated; I will gather them from all around against you and
will uncover your nakedness to them, that they may see all your nakedness. 38
And I will judge you as women who break wedlock or shed blood are judged; I
will bring blood upon you in fury and jealousy. 39 I will also give
you into their hand, and they shall throw down your shrines and break down your
high places. They shall also strip you of your clothes, take your beautiful
jewelry, and leave you naked and bare. "
So I encourage us to dress in
beautiful clothes so that we do not get thrown out of the wedding hall
according to the warning given by Jesus himself in Matthew 22: 1-14:
“1And Jesus answered and
spoke to them again by parables and said: 2 “The kingdom of heaven
is like a certain king who arranged a marriage for his son, 3 and
sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they
were not willing to come. 4 Again, he sent out other servants,
saying, ‘Tell those who are invited, “See, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen
and fatted cattle are killed, and all things are ready. Come to the wedding.” ’
5 But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own
farm, another to his business. 6 And the rest seized his servants,
treated them spitefully, and killed them. 7 But when the king heard
about it, he was furious. And he sent out his armies, destroyed those
murderers, and burned up their city. 8 Then he said to his servants,
‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. 9
Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the
wedding.’ 10 So those servants went out into the highways and
gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall
was filled with guests. 11 “But when the king came in to see the
guests, he saw a man there who did not have on a wedding garment. 12
So he said to him, ‘Friend, how did you come in here without a wedding
garment?’ And he was speechless. 13 Then the king said to the
servants, ‘Bind him hand and foot, take him away, and cast him into outer
darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’14 “For many
are called, but few are chosen.”
These wedding garments that we are
encouraged to wear are the righteous acts of the saints according to Revelation
19: 7-8,
" 7 Let us be glad
and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His
wife has made herself ready.” 8 And to her it was granted to be
arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous
acts of the saints."
End of the reign
of money and its replacement by free.
Another big change will take place
during what is symbolized by this last great holiday of the seventh month
(note: these festivals are often held in September whose name also means
seventh month!). This great change will be the end of the reign of money, a
tool of Babel or Babylon to establish its reign. This power of money will be
replaced by the reign of gratuity as Jesus already lets us glimpse during his
journey on earth (John 7: 2 and 37-39):
" 2 Now the Jews’
Feast of Tabernacles was at hand. … 37 On
the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying,
“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes
in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart
will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But this He spoke concerning
the Spirit, whom those [g]believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit
was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified."
Here, Jesus speaks of the Spirit
that will be received by all believers and the gratuity of this gift is
confirmed in Revelation 21: 6,
" 6 And He said to
me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I
will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts."
and in Revelation 22:17,
" 17 And the Spirit
and the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” And let him who
thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water
of life freely."
Already today, the Assembly of
Elohim, whose power comes from heaven, walks according to this principle of
gratuity as it is written in Matthew 10: 5-10,
" 5 These twelve
Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the
Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. 6 But go rather
to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as you go, preach,
saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ 8 Heal the sick, cleanse
the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely
you have received, freely give. 9 Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, 10
nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker
is worthy of his food."
This gratuitous situation that
exists in the Kingdom of Heaven has already been prophesied nearly 2700 years
ago in Isaiah 55:
" 1Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no
money,
Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without
money and without price. 2 Why do you spend money for what is not
bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen
carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your
soul delight itself in abundance. 3 Incline your ear, and come to
Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an
everlasting covenant with you— The sure mercies of David.
4 Indeed I have given him as a witness to the people, A leader and commander for the people. 5 Surely
you shall call a nation you do not know, And nations who do not know you shall
run to you, Because of Yehoah your Elohim, And the
Holy One of Israel; For He has glorified you.”
6 Seek the Yehoah while He may be found, Call
upon Him while He is near.
7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the
unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to Yehoah,
And He will have mercy on him; And to our Elohim, For He will abundantly
pardon.
8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor
are your ways My ways,” says Yehoah. 9
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are
My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.
10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not
return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may
give seed to the sower And bread to the eater,
11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not
return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper
in the thing for which I sent it.
12 “For you shall go out with joy, And be
led out with peace; The mountains and the hills Shall break forth into singing
before you, And all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. 13
Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress tree, And instead of the brier
shall come up the myrtle tree; And it shall be to the
Lord for a name, For an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”
We are very far, on the opposite
side, from the system currently set up by Babylon with her prostitution and her
trade. Let's read what will happen to Babylon and her system in Revelation 18:
1 to 24,
" 1After these things I
saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the
earth was illuminated with his glory. 2 And he cried mightily with a
loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a
dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every
unclean and hated bird! 3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine
of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed
fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through
the abundance of her luxury.”
4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my
people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. 5
For her sins have reached to heaven, and Elohim has remembered her iniquities. 6
Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to
her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her. 7 In
the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same
measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as
queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’ 8
Therefore her plagues will come in one day—death and mourning and famine. And
she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is Yehoah
Elohim who judges her.
The World
Mourns Babylon’s Fall
9 “The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived
luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of
her burning, 10 standing at a distance for fear of her torment,
saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour
your judgment has come.’11 “And the merchants of the earth will weep
and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore: 12
merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and
purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of
ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble; 13
and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine
flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of
men. 14 The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and
all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you, and you shall
find them no more at all. 15 The merchants of these things, who
became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping
and wailing, 16 and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city that was
clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious
stones and pearls! 17 For in one hour such great riches came to
nothing.’ Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as
trade on the sea, stood at a distance 18 and cried out when they saw
the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like this great city?’
19 “They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and
wailing, and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships
on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.’
20 “Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy
apostles and prophets, for Elohim has avenged you on her!”
Finality of
Babylon’s Fall
21 Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and
threw it into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall
be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore. 22 The sound of
harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters shall not be heard in you
anymore. No craftsman of any craft shall be found in you anymore, and the sound
of a millstone shall not be heard in you anymore. 23 The light of a
lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and bride
shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were
the great men of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived.
24 And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all
who were slain on the earth.”
Do not sell but buy time and
run to the free
waters of life
Keep in focus the New Jerusalem, her
extraordinary beauty that cannot be compared with anything we know!
Her vision is real and the last day of the Sukkot festival is only the shadow
of her brilliance.
We are invited to live and
participate actively in this wedding ceremony if we understand that we must
fight against ourselves, in this case against our carnal nature that would lead
us to death if we let ourselves be dominated by it.
Let us become as Paul encourages us
to be in I Corinthians 9: 24-27,
“24 Do you not know that
those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way
that you may obtain it. 25 And everyone who competes for the prize is
temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we
for an imperishable crown. 26 Therefore I run thus: not with
uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. 27 But I
discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to
others, I myself should become disqualified.”
